Rolf Heide

His innovative ideas brought new contacts, and in the 1970s and 1980s he spent an intensive period as a designer, developer and consultant for various manufacturers:
Kitchens (Siematic 1975, Bulthaup 1987), appliances (Gaggenau 1978), furniture (Stüker 1975), carpets (Vorwerk 1986), lighting (ANTA 1985). His designs met with an international response, which led to collaborations not only in Germany but also in Italy (e. g. with Depadova and Bernini in 1973). From the end of the 1980s to the 1990s, Heide's tasks expanded: he began with major projects such as the development of corporate image campaigns (e. g. Bulthaup 1987, Interlübke 1997), designed trade fairs and exhibitions such as the Frankfurt special exhibition LINIE3 (1989-94) or the special show for textile suppliers in Frankfurt, the ATMOSPHERE (1992,94,96). He was also instrumental in designing the Stilwerk design department store in Hamburg (1996).
Promoting the next generation was also part of Heide's duties as a member of the board of trustees.
the Raymond Loewy Foundation (1994-2007) and as patron of the competition "Insider Award" of the magazine AIT (2008-2013). Various articles, homage and two monographs of Rolf Heide's work (1996,2000) were written about Rolf Heide. His countless designs and drawings are archived in the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe. There were two exhibitions dedicated to him in 1996 and 2000.
Since 2001, the creative mind has gradually withdrawn from active day-to-day activities and is mainly active in an advisory capacity. Rolf Heide has been married since 1957 and has two grown-up sons.
